Prof. Siasa Mzenzi is a member of the Board of Directors of the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) contributing to strategic oversight and regulatory decision-making of the Authority. As a chairperson of the Audit, Risk and ICT Committee, Prof. Mzenzi enabled the Authority to emerge in the First Position for the Best Presented Financial Statements for the Financial Year Ended 30th June 2024.
He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-T) and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) in Accounting and Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) and a PhD in Accounting from the University of Southampton, UK. In addition to TCAA, Prof. Mzenzi is currently serving in three other Boards including Mbeya Cement Company Limited (MCCL), College of Business Education (CBE), and MSD Medipharm Manufacturing Company Limited, contributing to strategic oversight and regulatory decision-making.
Currently, Prof. Mzenzi is the Executive Director of the National Board of Accountants and Auditors Tanzania (NBAA), where he leads the regulation and development of the accountancy profession in the country. He oversees the implementation of policies, professional standards, and capacity-building initiatives aimed at strengthening transparency, accountability, and public trust in financial reporting. Actively engaged in professional and academic committees, advisory roles, and capacity-building initiatives, he remains committed to advancing the accounting profession through strengthened stakeholder collaboration, promotion of ethical standards, and alignment of Tanzania’s practices with international benchmarks.
In the past, Prof. Mzenzi served as the Director of Planning, Development and Investment (DPDI) at the University of Dar es Salaam (2021-2026), Manager of the Dar es Salaam University Press (2018-2020), Planning and Finance Manager of the University of Dar es Salaam Business School (2015-2018), and Associate Planning and Finance Manager of the University of Dar es Salaam Business School (2013-2015).
